Half a scarf

The vegan yarn scarf is coming along nicely - who knew bamboo could be so soft? It's actually a darker olive green than the photo suggests. I forgot about the curling issue with stocking stitch, but there's no going back now!

>> I've been meaning to embark on a granny square blanket ever since I learnt how to make them, and now I have the perfect motivation: Meet Me At Mike's A Granny A Day Til The End O May! I'm thinking oranges and browns...

Oh I'm trying desperately to learn to crochet but it is ending in tears every night. I need to find a benevolent soul in my area who will sit down and teach me. Learning from text is too hard.

If you were in Melbourne I'd say come along to a stitch 'n bitch! You've probably seen the instructions here otherwise I can suggest YouTube maybe? I was lucky to have someone show me first though, it definitely helps. Good luck!

How great is bamboo! I made my lace scarf out of it and it's sooooo soft, although I found the silkiness a bit tricky with some of the more complex stitches cos it's so prone to sliding off the needles. Also cos it's so slippery and my stitches are so big I'm having real issues weaving in the ends! I tried once and gave up, will give it another go at your place on Sunday :} The birthday party got moved to a dinner, so I'll be there!

I've been eying off the bamboo wool in Spotlight, lusting after it and trying to think of something to crochet justify buying it lol (I have mountains of wool I must use up first).
Ooooo! Granny square blankie...now there's something to keep me out of mischief!

Stitch 'n' bitch?

I have a few knitter friends so we get together for 'stitch n' bitch' (stolen term) sessions throughout winter! Hollie of Vegan and Vintage has been having them too if you're interested... I'm full this week but might put the word out next time if there's enough space for extras!
