Blue Valentine

I watched Blue Valentine today - it tells the story of a relationship over a number of years, showing both its beauty and dysfunction. I'll warn you, it wasn't a rom-com but I really enjoyed it.

The Coburg Drive-In

Possibly my favourite cinema in Melbourne is the Coburg Drive-In (155 Newlands Rd, Coburg). Last night I was there to see The Boat That Rocked, which seemed very appropriate... and had a great soundtrack! Think I might've been born in the wrong era.

Thing

I could post about Halloween for days... and probably will! This reminded me of Thing from the Addams Family. I'll take any excuse to make a list, so a few other spooky films I like are:
~ IT
~ The Craft
~ Scream
~ Dracula
~ Psycho
~ Death Proof

Most of those are partly for nostalgic value (I terrified myself with IT on my 13th birthday), but Death Proof was a great modern take on the genre.

An (almost) empty cinema

I went to see the Liz Lemon movie tonight (a.k.a Baby Mama) and was surprised to find an empty cinema! Just after this photo was taken, four people walked in (still a fairly private screening). Very funny movie!
