A week without blogging seemed like a very long time! I finally made it to Thread Den yesterday and picked up a roll of green velvet (along with some foam from Clark Rubber) to sew up some cushions for my kitchen chairs. Not entirely sure if they're going to work out... I'm only half way through the first one, but so far so good.

A cushion project
A week without blogging seemed like a very long time! I finally made it to Thread Den yesterday and picked up a roll of green velvet (along with some foam from Clark Rubber) to sew up some cushions for my kitchen chairs. Not entirely sure if they're going to work out... I'm only half way through the first one, but so far so good.

OOOhhh green velvet, I can't wait to see how it turns out. I am still trying to get to Thread den.
It was on my to do list for a while - great little place! I'm hoping to check out one of their classes sometime too.

I'm so inspired! I want to find some milk crates and make cushion covers for them. But where is the best place to get milk crates from?? Maybe I should take a midnight stroll to Safeway tonight.
Terrifyingly, my nearest Clark Rubber seems to be in Hoppers Crossing! I guess I can also stop by Sexyland and some sewerage treatment plants...
Great idea! I would try a supermarket first for sure. The Clark Rubber in Doncaster is probably closer for you... although you may be able to find old cushions in an op shop to re-cover if you're lucky?
I'm such a loser, I whereis.com'ed the directions to all the different addresses to find the closest one (I think I got a bit autistic sometimes?) and found that the Niddrie store was literally 20km closer to me than all the other ones. I thought it was out past Tullamarine, but it's actually only a few suburbs away! Go Niddrie, I'm sorry I haven't heard of you until now.
Good call on the op-shop! I'll see what I can find. I'm just really excited about having a project. We can't be bothered going to the gym now so our exercise for today will be sprinting away from the supermarket, crates in hand.
