The text on this building reads "The City of Melbourne Building", which sounds like it was of much importance at some time. I love seeing these beautiful old buildings amongst the newer ones in the city but the street level is all modern shops, which is why I took the photo looking upwards - seems to be a trend for me at the moment.

So dark and eerie... I love it. Yeah they just don't make them like this any more which is a shame. They really are beautiful.
I'm not sure if you're familiar with the melb street artists Miso and Ghostpatrol, but they share a studio up the top in the middle of that building, it's not nearly as gothic styled inside though, but very beautiful from the outside!
What a cool studio location! I imagine there are tonnes of great spaces around the city you don't think about just wandering around on street level.
