An elephant

I was out near Mooroolbark yesterday and hardly believed what I was seeing when we drove past an elephant behind a circus tent. There were actually two of them, and a couple of camels, with a flimsy plastic fence. I'm totally against animals being used in the circus, but didn't realise it still happens in Melbourne. I must be so naive.

What's worse is that people still pay to go and see that sort of thing. I can't understand how seeing animals in a circus is either amusing or enjoyable.

It's incredible that it continues in a place like Melbourne...these people should know better.

I know - they must be making enough money to keep going. Urgh.

I didn't even know the circus was still around. Who knew you could even still get a liscence to own an elephant anymore - I thought we had moved on
